GENERAL FAQ'S TO REVIEW
“I’m a first time guest, is this where I’m supposed to go?”
Be sure to welcome this guest and let them know you’re excited that they are here! Explain that you will connect them with some of our amazing volunteers in the Map Room where they will be able to get a free t-shirt to express our gratitude. Signal to your other volunteers at Info Central and let them know you will be walking a guest to the Map Room. Introduce the guest, by name, to a volunteer in the Map Room and then return to Info Central.
“I want to get more connected, what is the best way for me to do that?”
If this is a 3rd time guest asking, invite them to Pizza with the Pastor and help them register if they are interested. Use the quick reference guide to find out the dates for any upcoming Growth Groups or other groups that may interest them. Volunteering is another great way to feel more connected, especially if they have already attended PWP and are in a growth group.
“It’s my third time here, but I don’t think you’ll have me in your system because I’ve never filled anything out before. Can I still get a mug?”
It is likely this guest has never been into the map room before and hasn’t filled out a connection card, but be sure to ask them and don’t assume! If they have not filled one out before, go to the iPad home screen and select the shortcut “Connection Card” you can spin the iPad around so they are able to fill it out. While they complete the form, grab them t-shirts from the Map Room if they have not received them before, grabbing any applicable QR code invites. After completing the form, open the People app to find their profile and take their photo. Once they’ve been given all of their gifts, follow the usual 3rd time guest sequence of marking their 3rd time gift date and leaving their name on the clipboard.
“I’m having a hard time registering for an event, can you help?”
The goal of Info Central is to help someone get registered for an event, not just tell them how to do it and send them on their way. We would love to help them sign up! First, ask if they have their phone with them. If they do, help them connect to the Starpoint Guest Wi-Fi. While they do this, grab the event ring and navigate to the event they are asking about. Using their phone, have them scan the QR code and walk them through the registration until you see a confirmation screen. If they do not have their phone, open their profile in the People app to verify their contact information. Leave a note on the clipboard with their name & request, letting them know someone will reach out during the week to help.
“I’ve been attending Starpoint for a couple of months/years, but I never got my mug, can I get one now?”
Unfortunately, our mugs are gifts for our 3rd time guests only as an incentive for them to keep coming back to see if Starpoint is a good fit for them. We want them to feel seen and appreciated!
“My teenage/elementary age child has been attending main service with me for 3 weeks too, can they get a mug?”
Our mugs are intended for 3rd time adults attending main service. We want to encourage kids & teens to attend their age-appropriate ministry, where they will be spoiled with lots of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time gifts! These ministries have messages specifically geared towards their stage of life, leaders who can connect with them personally, and small groups with peers who are navigating the same changes/challenges as they are. Please hand the parent or child an invite card to their respective ministry and invite them to check in out! These are located in the acrylic display container on the 2nd shelf.
“I have a financial need and I was hoping that Starpoint could help”
Be a gentle and kind presence for this guest in need, letting them know you will go grab someone who can talk with them and see what we can do. At this point, grab any staff member or your team leader and they will connect with this guest.
“I don't have a Bible and was wondering if you had any extras that I could take home?”
WOW! What an honor to provide someone with their first Bible! These are located in the Map Room on the counter, between the praying hands. Walk them over to provide them with one and use this open door as an opportunity to have a personal conversation about their faith with them.
“Is this where I can get a translator device?”
Yes! During the 11:30am service, we have live Portuguese translation. The headsets are found on the top shelf of Info Central. Before handing them out, be sure to power it on and make sure the digital screen is clear. If it is dim, the batteries may be low and should be replaced in VHQ.
“I think I left my water bottle here last week, is there somewhere it would be?”
Our lost & found is located in VHQ.
