FAQS

Who is the average applicant?

Our applicants are college students or students who are taking a gap year and want ministry skill training in a church setting. They have demonstrated a potential for leadership, and are seeking to become a ministry leader or church planter in the Northeast. You must be over 18 years old to intern at Starpoint.

Do I need a car?

Yes, each intern is responsible for providing their own transportation. A car and valid driver’s license is required.

Do I need a laptop?

Yes, each participant is required to have their own laptop.

Do you provide housing?

We do not provide housing arrangements, unless you are part of our residency program with Word of Life.

Can I work and be an intern at the same time?

This is a full-time leadership development program. The many things offered to you (mentoring, coaching, skill training, strategic thinking, collaborative learning, etc.) that will help shape and prepare you for ministry will require a full time commitment, which would make it unmanageable for you to take on a part-time job. We want you to have the energy, time, and focus to make the most out of your internship as well as balance the other priorities in your life.

Are there any job guarantees after the program?

There is no guarantee of employment at Starpoint or outside of Starpoint after the internship.

What is the admission process?
  • Submit an application.
  • Interview with a staff member.
  • References and background check.
  • Interview with the team you are interested in learning from.
